Meet The Team: 2011 Vineman and Racine

150 150 Coach P

This weekend we have 17 or so TeamEN folks at Vineman in NorCal and Racine in Wisconsin.  Many of our vets will be out as well as some new members.  They all have their “One Thing” with an eye on race execution.  Because on race day it isn’t about fitness, it’s about execution!

Meet a few of our folks below.

Ed Gross

Ironman® 70.3® Racine

I’m 28, from Chicago, & this is my third season of racing.  My overall goal is to get as fast as I can before stepping up to IM.  This will be my 2nd 70.3, first under the guidance of EN.  First of 2 A-level 70.3s for the year.  Last year’s Rev3 (my first) was 5:38, looking to best that, especially on the run leg.  I’m a biker by choice, swimmer & runner by obligation.  Following my bike power plan is key.  Have been working hard since November, and I’m looking forward to executing the plan & seeing what I can accomplish.  Thanks for the support.

Keri Viehe

Ironman® 70.3® Racine

I live in Hartland, Wisconsin and am married to a very supportive husband.  He has a very busy career and I am thankful that after a long week of work he is willing to watch our two kids, ages 5 and 2, while I go out to play.  After running 6 marathons I thought it was time for a new challenge.  I had been flirting with the idea of long course triathlons for a long time, but always thought it would be too hard to fit into a “regular” persons schedule.   That all changed when I went to the Milwaukee Multisport Expo and listened to Patrick give the EN talk.  I was surprised to hear that I could be a stay at home Mom and still find time to train.  So I signed up for Racine and these last 6 months have been really fulfilling.  Thanks EN!!!

Ironman® 70.3® Vineman

M31 – Sacramento, CA

This is my first season doing triathlons. I purchased my first real bike in August 2010, had only ever jogged as far as 10k, and never swam for real until I joined EN and started the October 2010 out-season plan. Vineman will be my first attempt at the 70.3® distance on my way to Ironman® Arizona. My wife Katie will be joining me at the race and has been my greatest fan since I started this crazy triathlon game. I am super excited to test the fitness and execution EN has given me.
