2014 Rev3 Quassy – Meet Team Endurance Nation

Coach P

Team EN heads over to Middlebury, Connecticut this weekend for Rev3 Quassy. Winding through rolling hills and around beautiful Lake Quassapaug, starting and finishing at Quassy Amusement Park, this half-Rev will challenge even the most experienced triathlete. Meet the members of Team Endurance Nation competing this weekend.

Hi Team! This is my 3rd year with Endurance Nation, 5th year in the sport and I’m still loving it. My husband and I are part of the OSC (Ottawa Sleeper Cell) a super groovy group of EN peeps who love sharing the Kool-Aid with anyone who cares to listen. This year Quassy will be my first race back after IMWI. A broken foot during the marathon portion resulted 5 months off from running, so not sure what to expect come race day. BUT, I’m happy to come out and give it a shot. I just love being a part of this team and supporting everyone. Didn’t want to miss a chance to get together with everyone! Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones 🙂

This is my first year racing the Rev3 Quassy Half, something I said I’d never do after having raced the Oly for the past 4 years, but here I am! I’ve been doing tris since 2009, starting out with a local sprint and working my way up to my first full IM in 2012 (IMFL). This will likely be my most challenging race ever due to a few little hills on the course. 😉 Looking forward to some extra mojo from the EN team!

Hi guys, spectated at this race last year and felt the pull to participate this year. Coming in from OTown (Ottawa Canada) with some fellow Ottawa Sleeper Cell crew mates. Looking forward to the challenging bike and run course and seeing all my team mates rock this course. This is my first race of the season, so my goals are to pace and fuel properly and let the time take care of itself.

Keith W. here from Boston. Quassy will be my first tri in over a year due to injury. While I don’t outwardly have expectations, I’m excited to race once I survive (hopefully) the swim. Injury has still prevented good swimming, so thank god for wetsuits!!! While this is a C race for me, my goal is to crush myself on both the bike and run and see what happens. This is building toward Mont Tremblant 70.3® at the end of the month and Mont Tremblant in August.

I’ve been with EN since the start (OG status) and will be continuing to experiment with new things that I’m trying to perfect–nutrition, bike set up….I hope that I’m as excited for this as I was last weekend at the American Zofingen. I’m making up for a missed year of racing by racing a lot—I’m going to enjoy the journey even though there is a goal, because sometime goals aren’t met, but the journey will always be a memory.

Hello team!!
I am very excited to be racing Rev3 Quassy in my home state of Connecticut! I have been participating in triathlons for 1 year-sprints/olympic. Always been active, but mostly a runner. I have a swimming background but that ended in college. Triathlons brought me back to the water, my happy place. A good friend of mine introduced me to triathlons. After my first one, I was HOOKED! Went up to spectate Lake Placid last year. The event was life changing for me. The day was full of emotion- I cheered/ laughed/ and even cried! At that moment, I knew my goal and my new journey. I am on my journey now and have never worked harder and felt so happy. My goal at Quassy is to execute well following what EN has taught me and most importantly to finish with a smile on my face!!!

Hi All!

I’m based out of Ottawa, ON, and this will be my second second HIM experience since trying triathlon for the first time at HIM Tremblant last year, and my first as part of Team EN.

Looking back at it now, I made all of the classic mistakes during Tremblant and paid for it dearly during the run. My main goal for Quassy is to get the season kicked off with (hopefully) a much smarter execution – for me, this event is more about how working a smart race plan feels as opposed to chasing a PB – and running the event as part of a team. The OSC folks have been simply amazing to me during the training season and I’m really stoked to experience the race as part of a team.

Looking forward to meeting many more of you at the race!
