Races on 9/18

Philadelphia Rock n Roll Half Marathon

Pete Joachim earned a new PR with a finish time of 1:42:12.  He said “Broke a PR from over 12 yrs ago.  A strong steady day slowly increasing pace right to the end. EN Ironman® training helping me get faster.”

Tucker McKeever also raced to a a PR finish of 1:43:14 and said “Longest run was 11 miles 3 weeks after Coeur d’Alene.  Only had 2.5 weeks of run training for this race.  Longest run was 9.25 last Sunday. To PR by 3+ minutes on that says a lot about the fitness I still have from EN.”

Belle Isle Triathlon

Jay Adams finished this sprint tri in 1:08:01 for a new PR.  Of the race he stated “First sprint race with power, jumped into it last minute this week after being with EN for about 6 weeks into my OS plan.  PR’d this course over last year’s time by over 12 minutes, just by being smart on the bike and running a lot faster this year without blowing up.    500m swim – 8:39 (1:44/100m)  20k bike – 22.7mph – 232W AP (FTP 257)  5k run – 8:14/mi w/splits of 8:39, 8:27, 7:50 with a finishing kick of 6:13/mi for last tenth of a mile. My Vdot is 39.25 (TP=8:22/mi)    Was really happy with sitting on the power number, and felt it optimized my run.  Really happy with the result!  I think part of the improvement is just mentally being able to suffer more than before, because I have been making myself suffer on the OS plan.    I am really looking forward to cranking out awesome results in the Short Course races next year.  This just reinforces it: work works! “

Dunkin’ Run

David Martin raced in this 5k and finished in 19:36 for a new PR! Of his great race he said “VDOT leapfrogged from 49 to 51!  Third in my age group for my first podium ever!  #workworks”
