Meet the Team EN members taking on 2014 Ironman® 70.3® Eagleman! Let’s give them some love!
I hail from Columbia, MD and did my first sprint tri 2009 and have done Iron Girl every year since. I’ve thrown in a few 1/2 marathons, mud runs and 5K’s into the mix.
I’m a short, fat triathlete and still feel like a beginner in a lot of aspects even though I do now own a road bike, know a few swim drill terms and can now claim I jog faster then a walk.
My goal for my first HIM is to finish feeling decent-not like I will fall across the finish line. To me that means getting my nutrition right for the race.
My name is Kortney Ringel, and I live in Damascus, Maryland (near DC) with my two kids, ages 11 and 4, and my husband, Mark. We also have a dog, chickens and a horse. I started doing triathlons about 9 years ago… After I fell off my horse and tore my gastrocnemius. Swimming was the only exercise that I could do for a while, so the rest is history! I am an ex- aerospace engineer and opted for a more right-brain job after having kiddos, so now I am a photographer. This will be my fourth Eagleman. Every year since my first one, I have had some issue that has prevented race day from coming together like I wanted it to this year, my goal is to break 5:30:00. If I can’t do that, I at least want to beat my personal best of 5:40:00!
I live in Southeastern PA with my wife and 4 daughters. My wife and I race together and have been racing triathlons for 4 years our background is in running and we still like to run 3-5 marathons per year. We are also registered for IMMD and IMChoo.
My goal is to race smart and deal with the heat.
