Over the hump

Posted 05-27-2010 at 01:25 AM by Deller
Tuesday, 5/25: Did my FTP test at the Lake Montebello circle. FTP: 252! That's a fourteen point bump for me. Whoohoo!
Wednesday 5/25: Swim workout. The outdoor pool was open - chilly! Pace hovered around 2:00. Couldn't get below 1:55 even on my hard intervals. Crap.

Peak Winter Race Series - Stage 5

Posted 11-30-2009 at 02:01 AM by Tavis Yeung
Wow, something to be said about having a recovery day before doing one of these stages. Had to get a ride in on a Friday (despite it being a day off) since I was tied up at work on Thursday. Went into the heat feeling pretty good and started off at what I thought was conservative at 220watts. Unfortunately the course started with a 3.0% climb for about 2km and they threw in a couple 6.8% climbs in there too - ended up AVG Watts of 217 which is kind of shite based on what I expected (at least 230 for the duration). Waiting for the official numbers to get posted this week by Peak so I'll put that in the data tool as a new bike test.

Did my run today and it was "challenging" after yesterdays' race. Couldn't get the legs turning over very well and holding my Z4 pace of 7:20's was little harder than I wanted! All in all, felt like I definitely "worked" for this one

Finally back!

Posted 10-29-2009 at 11:58 PM by Andrea McGuire
So, my wheel went south at the end of the training season. Don't really understand it, Got the pre-season plan, started and running and biking were hurting. It was bad enough I couldn't walk without limping, walking up and down stairs were killing me and laying in bed I was waking up with pulsing pain in my foot. That was it. I stopped arguing and decided to listen to my body. I shut down for 6 weeks to allow time to heal. When you stress fracture your foot for what would be 5 times (pretty sure...
