Participation is limited to Endurance Nation members and their invited guests, max of about 25 total riders.

Swim Clinic

When: Saturday, March 21, 1-4pm
Location: Pleasanton Pool (map)
Cost: $99 General Public, $79 FMRC, $59 TeamEN

Swimming is approximately 80% technique and 20% fitness...and the off-season is 100% about technique!  Proper swimming requires focused mental attention to every lap, not mindless wall tag. A critical step in improving your ability to swim well is to master the basics of how you interact with the water. Rich is a former NCAA D3 All-American swimmer with years of experience teaching age-groupers how to swim more efficiently.

  • Before the clinic: you will receive a copy of the Swim Clinic eBook ($19 value), and access to a 45' video presentation by Coach Rich. Rich reviews the fundamentals of position, breathing, and balance, as well as the mechanics of "propulsive swimming." He will also cover open water and triathlon racing considerations, as well as how to structure your own effective training sessions.
  • During the clinic: Rich will reinforce these tools above with about 30' of discussion. You will then practice drills and receive stroke critiques. Rich will lead you through a progression of drills design to improve your body position and propulsion in the water. We will tape your stroke using an underwater camera. Two hours of pool time.
  • After the clinic: Each participant will receive a critique of their form as a video download.
