Now that we've established our broader training principles, let's move forward by discussing their application to the training season and beyond. People generally view their season in two big chunks—In-Season and Off-Season. Our athletes work through five seasons—the In-Season, Transition, General Preparation (General Prep), Race Preparation (Race Prep), and Out-Season, which are a function of recurring work periods with both an intensity and aerobic focus. The intensity focus fits your real-world life and racing goals, while the aerobic focus helps you adapt to the specific demands of long-course triathlon. These demands include managing nutrition, flexibility, strength of core/lower back/neck/triceps, the ability to sit and ride, and the ability to pace your effort over a longer distance.
