My good friend Dan Socie, former Crucible Fitness web jockey and now Endurance Nation web-monkey, turned four zero this past weekend. For his birthday he did something, well, Ludicrously Beyond Cool: a 40 mile run, as 4 x 10 miles loops in his neighborhood, finishing at a local pub and a party with his friends. But wait…he’s in fookin’ Michigan and did this in snow.

Enough of me, here’s Dan’s short account:

I turned 40 yesterday and to celebrate I ran 40 miles. My original plan was to do a point to point run. But the weather made change my route to something more realistic. So I did 4 – 10 miles loops around the neighborhood. I altered the last one so I could finish downtown at the local brewery where my friends were waiting.

Total run time was 6 hours and 40 minutes. Needless to say it’s a long way to run. I’m tired and sore but really happy to have the physical ability to do it.

Camera ran out of battery so I don’t think I actually have finish picture. I’ll post a finish picture when I get one
