Nearly all of our 400 members are working through way through our Out-Season training program, in route to their 2009 season. We are in the process of compiling the team-wide results, and will share them with you, but now we’d like to introduce Tom Glynn to you. Tom has been with Endurance Nation nearly from the beginning and his 18 month progression is an excellent example of the improvements we’ve been able to create with our athletes. Tom will be the first to tell you that there is no special secret. It’s just work…and work works!
(no, that’s not Tom…but you don’t get legs and speed like that from Zone 1-2 work!)
From Tom:
Here are my results since joining EN in October 2007
Functional Threshold Power (FTP) Progression
test 1 215w (10/20/07)
test 2 233w (11/24/07)
test 3 259w (1/2/08)
test 4 269w (1/29/08)
test 5 250w (3/17/08)
test 6 275w (4/8/08)
test 7 279w (6/30/08)
*Note that Tom raced IMLP’08, joining EN with an FTP of 215w, and racing about 8 months later with an FTP of 279w. That’s an increase of 29.7%.
test 8 260 w (10/7/08 – first time on trainer in months = disaster)
Lower FT from 279 to 275 for now.
test 9 286 (11/3/08)
test 10 289 (2/23/09)
300 or bust!
Tom
