This weekend in Lake Placid, something very unique is going to happen. Over fifty triathletes from across the US are going to come together for three days of training and learning. There will be TT bikes, road bikes, wetsuits and running shoes. Coaches and newbies. Spandex and sunglasses. But one thing will be conspicuously absent: money. This camp is 100% free.

After a few solid hours at the Multisport World Expo this past weekend, I was officially “tri-ed” out. It’s great to see everyone, but it can get to be a bit much after a few hours. I saw a lot of interesting stuff, particularly from the 10+ events that had tables there (being a race director must pay well!), but as I coach I was really only looking at the other coaching groups that were on site.

March 20th was the 2010 Boston Multisport World Expo, an annual event on the N.E. triathlon calendar. Team Endurance Nation was there in full force, with a booth manned by some of our most stalwart members, a presentation on Race Execution by Coach Patrick (over 60 folks there!), free DVDs in every schwag bag (1,000 total!), and a dominating performance in the 12:15 cycling TT (see video below).

I recently did a presentation about Training and Racing Power at the TriFitLab run by TTBikeFit.com It was a good presentation (I’ve done better), but what always interests me is not what I do or whom I’m speaking with but the questions that come from the audience. Instead of leaving those answers information at the clinic with the 35 folks who attended, I want to post answers here in a space where everyone can learn from them.

Every year Team Endurance Nation holds a February bike challenge to liven things up a bit. Anyone on the Team can play, and point are awarded on an intensity basis such that even indoor riders can be “competitive” with their west coast / warm weather teammates.
