Open Invitation to Ironman Coeur d’Alene Athletes:
Endurance Nation coaches Rich Strauss and Patrick McCrann will be at IMCDA next weekend to support their squad of 28 athletes in the race. We would like to invite you to some of our Team events, so you can meet the coaches, the Team, and get a feel for what we’re all about. Total bonus that we’ll also get your head screwed on straight about the race!

Endurance Nation Introduces Race-Day Tracking!
Who needs Ironmanlive when you have 28 athletes racing, being tracked by 400 teammates, and everyone is armed with camera phones, Twitter and GoogleDocs! Check this page for live updates throughout the weekend and from the course!

Four Keys Pre-Race Talk
On Friday, 10am at the swim start area, Rich and Patrick will deliver their Four Keys of Ironman Execution Talk to the Team and the general public. Rich and Patrick have raced IMCDA four times between them, with PR’s of 10:02 and 10:01 respectively, and have coached dozens to the event. They KNOW IMCDA and will get your heads screwed on straight about the race. The talk is FREE so please invite your friends to attend! Just look for the coaches, the team, and a bunch of red Four Keys t-shirts on the grassy knoll! Please RSVP on Facebook!

FREE Ironman Transition Plan
After the IM buzz has worn off you’ll all have a “great…what do I do now” moment. No worries! The coaches have prepared an Ironman Transition Training Plan to help guide you through the critical four weeks after your Ironman. How to recover properly, expectations for the remainder of the season, how to transition your IM fitness to later-season HIM and other events, a four week schedule of workouts to guide you…it’s all here, it’s all free! Just attend the Four Keys Talk, find the coaches in the expo, or hook up with Rich and Patrick at any one of the events below and we’ll give you a postcard with instructions for the download. We’ve even included our Four Keys on the postcard, your clifnotes for the race!

FREE IMCDA Overview and 20% Discount on Our Course Talk Product
We have tapped into our coaching, training, and racing experience on every US Ironman course to create a series of 90-120′ Course Talk movies. We describe how to race every inch of every US Ironman, and much, much more. We’ve even made available, for FREE, the first 30′ of EVERY one of these products. Just go to TriathlonExecution.com to register to receive the previews. With your registration we’ll give you a code for 20% off the final product!

Think about it: you’re racing IMCDA in 9 days (or less!). Rich and Patrick absolutely know IMCDA inside out, backwards and forwards. They’ve bottled all of that into a 90′+ video, giving you the first 30′ free. We are very certain that we can teach you $55 worth of stuff (after your 20% discount) that you’ll find valuable on race day. How much did you pay for that aerobottle? Just sayin’!

Coffee and Beerz on the Coaches
During race weekend you’ll find the coaches at the Calypso Cafe working during the day, and “relaxing” at the Couer d’Alene Brewery in the evening. If you are in town to race or spectate, please drop in and let us buy you a cup of Java or a Vanilla Bourbon Stout. We’d love to meet you and answer your questions about your race or Endurance Nation. Look for the Bald Guy and the Tall Guy in the red Four Keys shirts, either typing away on Macs or relaxing with a cold beer.

Recent Results and Testimonials

Posted by admin On June - 11 - 2009

We know it’s been a while since our last results post but it’s not for lack of racing and results! Today we feature the highlights: podium finishes, AG wins, massive PR’s and other goodness! Stay tuned next week when twenty eight (28) Endurance Nation athletes, friends, family and two coaches descend on the IMCDA course!

Mike Cook, Kinetic HIM, AG win, 6th OA, 10′+ PR on a harder course!

Bob Arsenault, Moosman Oly, AG win, 21′ PR, weeks after going head first through an SUV! “OUTCOME: I came in 30th out of a field of 884. I won my 45-49 yr age group. And very happy to say all those hard hours of the OS paid off with the 16th fastest bike of the day. I was absoloutlely flabergasted, did not have any such expectations. My final race time was 2:26:41 In 2007 I did this course in 2:47:?? So needless to say I was extremely pleased with my day. Keep the Koolaid flowing, you’ve got me hook line and sinker.”

Ron Gierut, Ironman Florida 70.3, AG win! “All in all, there are two kinds of endurance sport athletes. The first kind has great genetics and can perform well with minimal training and preparation. The second kind (me) has got zippo for natural ability and can get by because they put in the miles and time. I’m lucky that I love to train, haven’t been injured in a long time and have found Endurance Nation. Thank you Rich, Patrick and the rest of the EN community. In this race, I got the most out of EN’s training and execution points I could hope for. It will be interesting to see if I can continue to get faster as I age.”

Dan Socie, Big Mac Attack, 207mi solo ride at 20mph+ average! “I’ve always wanted to ride to the Mackinac Bridge from my house in 1 day. It’s 225 miles. So _just_ a little out of reach which makes it perfect. I started asking around to see if anyone wanted to give it go with me. Anyone? Anyone? No one? Fine – I’ll go alone.”

Trent Prough, 1st AG, 2nd OA, wins $100 and qualifies for AG Nationals! “For this hilly course I was shocked, as last year at this race my ave. speed was 22.5 mph. so a 1 mph ave. improvement. But better yet was how I felt on the run. I felt completely fine and improved the run by 50 seconds for the 5K run.”

Matt Sullivan, Chicago Spring Half Marathon, sub 1:30, 3rd AG! “My motto going into this race was “Don’t be afraid to blow up”. Since it was a C race I felt I had nothing to lose. I wanted to shoot for hitting close to my HMP which is 6:32! That’s what I was running 5K’s at last year.”

Many, many more race reports, race plans, PR’s, and other EN Goodness in the Race Reports Forum. We encourage you to sample the results and testimonials of our athletes, and decide for yourself if Endurance Nation “works.”
