It’s the end of the year, and to keep with the blogging trends (‘cuz we’re sooooo hip and kewl here @ EN), I thought it would be interesting to review our top ten most popular posts from 2008. The rankings are based on total views, so it could well be that the title was sexy but no one liked the content…but so be it!
Note: We’ve really stepped up our blogging in the last month of 2008 and the trend will continue through the better part of 2009. If you like the EN perspective, be sure to subscribe to our blog RSS feed or consider subscribing to our podcast and/or video feeds.
Without further ado, please enjoy our very own Blog Top Ten:
- The Book: Endurance Nation Five Keys of Long Course Training – One of our most anticipated blog posts ever, timed with the release of The Book: The EN Long Course Triathlon Training Manual. This particular post covered all the critical bases for Age Group triathletes.
- EN Value Provided Since Launch, November 2007 – We took a second to reflect on what we had accomplished in less than a year. Still an impressive amount of stuff that we only seek to improve upon…a great benchmark and an early insight as to how committed we are to making EN rock.
- EN: Four Keys to Ironman Execution – The seminal article, first published as a blog post, then converted into a series on Xtri.com and now, of course, captured forever as our FourKeys DVD.
- Off Season Intervention (Part I): Fitness is in Your Muscles, not the Cardiovascular System! – Our first salvo regarding the OffSeason program. Our intent was to really try and shake some people’s understanding of fitness and speed and training, and at #4 it clearly caught a lot of attention. A great re-read if you are in the middle of the OS program right now.
- The Endurance Nation Ironman Racing System, Part I – Based on the FourKeys understanding of Ironman, this was the initial insallment on how to actually approach racing an IM event.
- Running With Pace – The only blog post I can find online that actually explains how to run with pace for triathlon. Gotta pull this down soon (hint, hint) to make way for our webinar on the same topic (and eventually a book).
- The Book: Endurance Nation Coaching Manifesto – Another “about us” post, a bit old school with some early perspectives on our unique value proposition. I’d like to think we are a bit more subtle these days now that we are older than 18 months, but reading this still gets me fired up!
- Free EN Webcast: Training + Racing the Half Iron / 70.3 Distance – The popularity of this post really drives home the need for non-IM specific guidance as the 70.3 distance grows in popularity.
- The Book: Long Course Season Overview – Another excerpt from The Book, this chapter covers how to build a season from the ground up. Really good stuff.
- Ironman Arizona 2008: Grade A Sufferfest + Photos – Not a ton of substance here, I think this was a clear case of how a catch title can do the work of promotion. Still neat to hear about Rich’s experiences solo in Tempe.
