Podcast: Coaches’ IM Execution Thoughts, from IMCDA and IMUSA

Twenty of our members competed at IMUSA last weekend. Nothing speaks of the value and power of the EN training, race execution, and learning model as the results of our Team.

Results:

  • 1 podium, 2 Kona slots, 7 athletes under 10:50
  • Everyone done and in the showers by 8:11pm (13:11 race time)

Below are the results of TeamEN athletes at IMLP

Race week began with over 40 TeamEN athletes, friends, and family members joining us for dinner at Nicola’s

Team Halligan

Team Cramer and Chavez. Steve Cramer (left) manages the EN Forum for us. On race day he posted a 10:08, good for 11th AG and a Kona slot! Steve Chavez (right) is the husband of TeamEN member Carrie Chavez and winner of the 50-54 AG. He’s already on board for our Off-Season training program, to make him even faster!

On Friday, Rich and Patrick delivered their Four Keys of Ironman Execution talk to over 80 athletes.

The day was remarkable for our athletes:

  • Very even bike splits on a very difficult day. Most notably, our power athletes were able to switch over to our Four Keys guidance when PM’s stopped working in the rain.
  • IMLP was the debut of our Racing with Pace guidance, in beta form. EN athletes racing with the Four Keys and with our pacing guidance were able, as a Team, to post only a 12′ run lap 1/2 delta.  A couple members admitted to not following our advice 100% and were able to identify higher positive run splits as a results.

On the whole, it was a great day and a great weekend for us. Our athletes and families appreciated having a team vibe they could plug themselves into: the dinner, the talk, the singlets, encouragement, and high-fives on race day!
