Today was a scorcher….with temps well into the 90s and a relentless, gusting breeze that blew down the mountain threatening to push folks off their bikes. A day like today meant that all campers had seen everything that Lake Placid has to offer: wet roads, downpours, bright sun, and stiff winds.
Sitting out here at the entrance to the out/back section of the course (mile 30/44 or 86/100 depending on your loop), I see a lot of folks who are suffering. Big time. Our folks, the ones who have been drinking the ENKoolaid and are used to suffering for 3 to 4 hours on any given weekend are doing just fine. The folks out here who aren’t used to work, even riding at their easy pace in such conditions, are in serious trouble. It can’t be a mistake that the only people out here smiling on a day like today are from EN.

Enjoy the pics and see you online tomorrow for Day Five!
